Το PornHub ζητά χρηματοδότηση για να γυρίσει την πρώτη ταινία πορνό στο Διάστημα


Οι πλατφόρμες χρηματοδότησης (Kickstarter, Indiegogo) έχουν φιλοξενήσει με επιτυχία παντός είδους projects, με πιο συνηθισμένα τα gadgets, τα video games και λιγότερο άλλου είδους προϊόντα και ταινίες, αλλά η αλήθεια είναι ότι δεν περιμέναμε τέτοιου είδους κίνηση από τη δημοφιλέστερη ιστοσελίδα πορνογραφικού περιεχομένου.

Το PornHub προκαλεί για άλλη μια φορά (έχει αφήσει εποχή με τις ευφάνταστες διαφημιστικές καμπάνιες της) ζητώντας από το κοινό χρηματοδότηση ύψους $3.4 εκατ. για να γυρίσει την πρώτη ταινία πορνό στο Διάστημα. Ο τίτλος είναι Sexploration και θα πρωταγωνιστήσουν οι Eva Lovia και Johnny Sins.

Στην αρχή νομίζαμε ότι πρόκειται για αστείο, αλλά το PornHub βλέπει το εγχείρημα ως ένα πολύ σημαντικό πείραμα για την Ανθρωπότητα, καθώς για πρώτη φορά θα μελετηθεί η σεξουαλική συμπεριφορά των ανθρώπων έξω από την ατμόσφαιρα της Γης.

Αν μαζευτεί το ποσό, οι δύο πρωταγωνιστές θα περάσουν κανονικά την εκπαίδευση του αστροναύτη και φιλοδοξούν να στείλουν την αποστολή μέσα στο 2016. Φυσικά, δεν λείπουν τα διάφορα δωράκια για τους δωρητές, με κορυφαίο την στολή που θα φορά ενός εκ των δύο πρωταγωνιστών.

The Melian dialogue is a dramatic set-piece debate inserted by Thucydides in his History of the Peloponnesian War, his account of the ruinous 27-year-long struggle (431–404 BC) between the powerful Greek city-states of Athens and Sparta. It is one of the two most famous speeches in the book (the other being the defense of Athenian democracy in the funeral oration of Pericles in the beginning of the work). These speeches were not necessarily made quite as written, but were composed for literary effect, according to what Thucydides felt was "called for in the situation".


Arguments

The Athenians, in a frank and matter-of-fact manner, offer the Melians an ultimatum: surrender and pay tribute to Athens, or be destroyed.

The Melians argue that they are a neutral city and not an enemy, so Athens has no need to crush them. The Athenians counter that, if they accept the Melians' neutrality and independence, they would look weak: people would think they spared Melos because they were not strong enough to conquer it.

The Melians argue that an invasion will alarm the other neutral Greek states, who will become hostile to Athens for fear of being invaded themselves. The Athenians counter that the Greek states on the mainland are unlikely to act this way. It is the more volatile island states and the subjects they have already conquered that are more likely to take up arms against Athens.

The Melians argue that it would be shameful and cowardly of them to submit without a fight. In Thucydides' account, "If such hazards are taken by you to keep your empire and by your subjects to escape it, we who are still free would show ourselves great cowards and weaklings if we failed to face everything that comes rather than submit to slavery." The Athenians counter that the debate is not about honour but about self-preservation.

The Melians argue that though the Athenians are far stronger, there is still a chance they could win. The Athenians counter that only the strong have a right to indulge in hope; the weak Melians are hopelessly outnumbered.

The Melians state that they also refuse because they believe they have the assistance of the gods. Thucydides recounts, "We trust that the gods will give us fortune as good as yours, because we are standing for what is right against what is wrong."[6] The Athenians counter that gods and men alike respect strength over moral arguments, summarising this in the famous dictum that, "The strong do as they can and the weak suffer what they must."

The Melians insist that their Spartan kin will come to their defence. The Athenians argue that the Spartans have nothing to gain and a lot to lose by coming to the Melians' aid – mere kinship will not motivate them.

The Athenians then conclude the argument by saying there is no shame in submitting to a stronger enemy. The Melians do not change their minds and politely dismiss the envoys.

Ο Διάλογος των Μηλίων με τους Αθηναίους είναι ένα από τα δραματικότερα επεισόδια του Πελοποννησιακού Πολέμου και εξιστορείται στο 5ο βιβλίο της Ιστορίας του Θουκυδίδη. Το περιστατικό συνέβη το 416 π.Χ.. Οι Αθηναίοι επιτέθηκαν στην Μήλο, μια μικρή, Λακεδαιμονική αποικία, με σκοπό να την αναγκάσουν να ενταχθεί στην Αθηναϊκή Συμμαχία. Οι Μήλιοι ζήτησαν να γίνει σεβαστό το δικαίωμά τους να μείνουν ουδέτεροι στη σύγκρουση των Αθηναίων με τη Σπάρτη. Τελικά οι Αθηναίοι εκμεταλλευόμενοι την τεράστια στρατιωτική τους υπεροχή καταλαμβάνουν την Μήλο, εκτελούν όλους τους ενήλικους άνδρες, και εξανδραποδίζουν τις γυναίκες και τα παιδιά, εγκαθιστώντας στο νησί Αθηναίους εποίκους.

Ο διάλογος αυτός έχει μείνει στην ιστορία ως η αντιπαράθεση του δικαίου έναντι της ισχύος. Πιθανότατα η τοποθέτησή του στο συγκεκριμένο σημείο από το Θουκυδίδη αποσκοπεί στο να παρουσιάσει τη δική του εκδοχή για τη μεταβολή της Αθηναϊκής Συμμαχίας σε ηγεμονία και εν τέλει σε τυραννίδα. Θυμίζει έντονα το τρίπτυχο της δραματικής ποιήσεως Ύβρις-Τύσις-Νέμεσις. Η Νέμεση για τους Αθηναίους ήλθε λίγο αργότερα με την καταστροφή τους στη Σικελία.

Choquequirao

Choquequirao (in hispanicized spelling), Chuqik'iraw or Chuqi K'iraw (Quechua chuqi metal, every kind of precious metal/gold (<Aymara), k'iraw crib, cot, also spelled Choqek'iraw) is an Incan site in south Peru, similar in structure and architecture to Machu Picchu. The ruins are buildings and terraces at levels above and below Sunch'u Pata, the truncated hill top. The hilltop was anciently leveled and ringed with stones to create a 30 by 50 m platform.

Choquequirao (3050 m) is in the spurs of the Willkapampa mountain range in the La Convención Province of the Cusco Region above the valley of river Apurímac. The complex is 1800 hectares, of which 30–40% is excavated.

The site is reached by a two-day hike from outside Cusco.

It was one of the last bastions of resistance and refuge of the Son of the Sun (the "Inca"), Manco Inca Yupanqui, who fled Cusco after his siege of the city failed in 1535.

Operation Peter Pan

Operation Peter Pan (Operación Peter Pan or Operación Pedro Pan) was an exodus of children during the 1960s from Cuba when Cuban parents feared indoctrination and that the Cuban government would take away their parental authority. What is now known as Operation Pedro Pan was the largest recorded exodus of Unaccompanied minors in the Western Hemisphere.[citation needed] It was supposedly through the works of Operation Pedro Pan Group, Inc. that the name Operation Pedro Pan became known throughout the US and the world. Approximately half of the minors were reunited with relatives or friends at the airport.[citation needed] More than half were cared for by the Catholic Welfare Bureau, directed by a 30 year old Irish priest, Bryan O. Walsh. The children from the Cuban Refugee Children's Program were placed in temporary shelters in Miami, and relocated throughout 30 States in the United States

From December 1960 to October 1962, more than fourteen thousand Cuban youths arrived alone in the United States. In 1962, the US government commissioned a documentary film created for the children who came to Miami, called The Lost Apple. The film named Cuban premier Fidel Castro as being responsible for the parents' non-appearance. According to Torres, then-Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy approved making the documentary as part of the US government’s campaign against Communism.[1]

On March 12, 1999, the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division, ruled in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) suit filed by Prof. Maria de los Angeles Torres in 1998 that “evacuation of Cuban children turned out not to be a CIA operation at all.�

Η χερσόνησος Καμτσάτκα (ρωσικά: полуо́стров Камча́тка‎, πολυόστροβ Καμτσάτκα) είναι μια χερσόνησος 1250 χιλιομέτρων πλάτους, στην ανατολική Ρωσία και καταλαμβάνει μια έκταση 270.000 km2[1] Βρίσκεται μεταξύ του Ειρηνικού Ωκεανού (δυτικά της χερσονήσου) και της Οχοτσικής θάλασσας (ανατολικά της χερσονήσου).[2] Πολύ κοντά στην ακτή προς τον Ειρηνικό Ωκεανό βρίσκεται η, βάθους 10.500 μέτρων, τάφρος Κουριλών–Καμτσάτκα.

Η χερσόνησος Καμτσάτκα, οι Νήσοι Κομαντόρσκι και η Νήσος Καραγκίνσκι απαρτίζουν το υποκείμενο της Ρώσικης Ομοσπονδίας, Κράι Καμτσάτκα. Η πλειοψηφία των 322.079 κατοίκων είναι Ρώσοι, αλλά υπάρχουν και περίπου 13.000 αυτόχθονες Κοριάκες.[3] Ο μισός και πλέον πληθυσμός είναι συγκεντρωμένος στην πόλη Πετροπάβλοφσκ Καμτσάτσκι (179.526 το 2010) και στη γειτονική Ελίζοβο (38.980).

Τα ιδιαίτερα χαρακτηριστικά της χερσονήσου (βαρύ ψύχος, ενεργά ηφαίστεια, δυνατοί σεισμοί) την κάνουν ιδιαίτερα εχθρική προς κάθε ανθρώπινη δραστηριότητα. Εκτός των επαγγελμάτων που συνδέονται με το στρατό, κύρια ασχολία των λιγοστών κατοίκων είναι η εκμετάλλευση των άφθονων φυσικών πόρων (αλιεία, ξυλεία), ενώ τα τελευταία χρόνια παρατηρείται ανάπτυξη του τουρισμού ακραίων συνθηκών. Πόλεις υπάρχουν μόνο στο νότιο κομμάτι όπου το κλίμα είναι ευνοϊκότερο.

What is the spaceship operator (<=>)? It is the newest operator in PHP and PHP’s very first “trirnary” operator. Previously, all other comparison operators in PHP returned either true or false.

In the example above, either $a is greater than $b or it is not, there is no middle ground. $returnValue will contain either true, or it will contain false. The Spaceship Operator changes that. It will return one of 3 values, -1, 0, or 1.

Since there are 3 operators in the Spaceship Operator, and there are 3 values that can be returned, an easy way to look at it is that each operator is assigned a value. The one that is correct – or the one that ‘hits’ – is the value that will be returned.

Llanfairpwllgwyngyll (pronounced [ɬanˌvairpuɬˈɡwɨ̞nɡɨ̞ɬ]) is a large village and community on the island of Anglesey in Wales, situated on the Menai Strait next to the Britannia Bridge and across the strait from Bangor. It is alternatively known as Llanfairpwll, Llanfair PG, or Llanfair­pwllgwyngyll­gogery­chwyrn­drobwll­llan­tysilio­gogo­goch.

At the 2001 census the population of the community was 3,040,[1] 76% of whom speak Welsh fluently; the highest percentage of speakers is in the 10–14 age group, where 97.1% speak Welsh.[citation needed] By the time of the 2011 Census the population had increased to 3,107 of whom 70.62% were able to speak Welsh.[2] It is the sixth largest settlement on the island by population.

The long form of the name was invented for promotional purposes in the 1860s; with 58 characters it is the longest place name in Europe and the second longest official one-word place name in the world.

Cthulhu Regio

Cthulhu Regio /ˈkᵊθuːluː ˈriːdʒi.oʊ/ is a prominent surface feature of the dwarf planet Pluto, that is reminiscent of a whale in shape. It is an elongated dark region along Pluto's equator, 2,990 km (1,860 mi) long and one of the darkest features on Pluto. It is west of the Sputnik Planum region of Tombaugh Regio, also known as Pluto's "heart", and to the east of Meng-P'o, the easternmost of Pluto's "Brass Knuckles".

Description
The dark color of the region is speculated to be the result of a "tar" made of complex hydrocarbons called tholins covering the surface, which form from methane and nitrogen in the atmosphere interacting with ultraviolet light and cosmic rays. Tholins have been observed on other planetary bodies, such as Iapetus, Umbriel, and in the atmosphere of Titan, although the irregular and disconnected nature of the dark spots on Pluto has not yet been explained. The presence of craters within Cthulhu indicates that it is perhaps billions of years old, in contrast to the adjacent bright, craterless Sputnik Planum, which may be as little as 100 million years old. Higher-resolution images of the border between the two regions indicate that lighter material from Sputnik Planum, composed of nitrogen, carbon monoxide, and methane ices, may be invading and overlaying the easternmost part of the dark Cthulhu Regio. As of 30 July 2015, the eastern "head" region had been imaged in much higher resolution than the western "tail" region.


Naming
The feature was first identified in the initial image, first published on 8 July 2015, of Pluto returned after the New Horizons probe recovered from an anomaly that temporarily sent it into safe mode. NASA initially referred to it as the Whale in reference to its overall shape. By 14 July 2015, the provisional name "Cthulhu" was being used by the New Horizons team, after the fictional deity from the works of H. P. Lovecraft and others. The character Cthulhu initially appeared in H. P. Lovecraft's 1928 short story "The Call of Cthulhu" as a malevolent entity hibernating within an underwater city in the South Pacific, who is the subject of worship by a number of human cults asserting that, while currently trapped, Cthulhu will eventually return.

Surface features of Pluto are being given provisional, informal names selected from a list generated from an online poll conducted earlier in 2015, along the theme of "creatures related to underworld mythologies." "Cthulhu" was the most popular name in this category of the poll. The name received positive reaction from the press and social media, with a Chicago Tribune editorial supporting the name and its democratic origin. The name Cthulhu may be submitted to the IAU as an official name.

Cthulhu Regio contains many craters and linear features that have also been given informal names. Oort Crater, K. Edgeworth Crater, and Elliot Crater are large craters along Cthulhu's northern edge; Brinton Crater, Harrington Crater, and H. Smith Crater are near Cthulhu's eastern edge, and Virgil Fossa and Beatrice Fossa are linear depressions in Cthulhu's interior.

Combat medic

Combat medics (also known as medics) are military personnel who have been trained to at least an EMT-Basic level (16 week course in the U.S. Army), and who are responsible for providing first aid and frontline trauma care on the battlefield. They are also responsible for providing continuing medical care in the absence of a readily available physician, including care for disease and battle injury. Combat medics are normally co-located with the combat troops they serve in order to easily move with the troops and monitor ongoing health.


Geneva convention protection
In 1864, sixteen European states adopted the first-ever Geneva Convention to save lives to alleviate the suffering of wounded and sick combatants, and to protect trained medical personnel as non-combatants, in the act of rendering aid.

Chapter IV, Article 25 of the Geneva Convention states that: "Members of the armed forces specially trained for employment, should the need arise, as hospital orderlies, nurses or auxiliary stretcher-bearers, in the search for or the collection, transport or treatment of the wounded and sick shall likewise be respected and protected if they are carrying out these duties at the time when they come into contact with the enemy or fall into his hands." Article 29 reads: "Members of the personnel designated in Article 25 who have fallen into the hands of the enemy, shall be prisoners of war, but shall be employed on their medical duties insofar as the need arises."

According to the Geneva Convention, knowingly firing at a medic wearing clear insignia is a war crime.

In modern times, most combat medics carry a personal weapon, to be used to protect themselves and the wounded or sick in their care. When and if they use their arms offensively, they then sacrifice their protection under the Geneva Conventions. These medics are specifically trained.

Earworm

An earworm, sometimes known as a brainworm,[1] is a catchy piece of music that continually repeats through a person's mind after it is no longer playing.[2] Phrases used to describe an earworm include musical imagery repetition, involuntary musical imagery, and stuck song syndrome.[1][3][4] The word earworm is a calque from the German Ohrwurm.[5] The earliest known usage is in Desmond Bagley's 1978 novel Flyaway.[6]

Researchers who have studied and written about the phenomenon include Theodor Reik,[7] Sean Bennett,[8] Oliver Sacks,[1] Daniel Levitin,[9] James Kellaris,[10] Philip Beaman,[11] Vicky Williamson,[12] and, in a more theoretical perspective, Peter Szendy.[13] The phenomenon is common and should not be confused with palinacousis, a rare medical condition caused by damage to the temporal lobe of the brain that results in auditory hallucinations.[14]
