The ELLIS PhD Program opens call for applications. Application deadline: 1.12.2020

The European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems offers an interdisciplinary PhD program. The ELLIS PhD program is a key element of the ELLIS initiative and its goal is to foster and educate the best talent in machine learning related research areas by pairing outstanding students with leading academic and industrial researchers in Europe.

The program supports excellent PhDs across Europe by giving them access to leading research through boot camps, summer schools and workshops of the ELLIS programs. Every PhD student is supervised by one ELLIS fellow/scholar and one ELLIS member from a different country and conducts a 1 year exchange at the other location.

Πως γίνεται η επιλογή του «unit» / μέρους / supervisor που θα πας ;
Στέλνεις αίτηση και οποίος από τους supervisor ενδιαφερθεί σου στέλνει ;

Φαντάζομαι η διαδικασία περιγράφεται στο website του πρώτου post (ή σε κάποιο link που περιέχει), σε περίπτωση ενδιαφέροντος θα πρέπει να το ψάξετε παραπάνω σε βάθος και πιθανώς όχι μόνο στο front page.  Δεν έψαξα λεπτομέριες μιας και το opening αναφέρεται σε νεώτερους.

Με βάση αυτό το tweet ("No need to hunt for advisors - instead have some of the best labs in the EU compete for YOU, and pick TWO!"), *υποθέτω* ότι:
- οι ενδιαφερόμενοι κάνουν αίτηση και δηλώνουν ενδιαφέροντα και ίσως μερικούς επιθημητούς καθηγητές (non-exclusive)
- υπάρχουν διάφορα εσωτερικά στάδια φιλτραρίσματος αιτήσεων (όχι απαραίτητα από τους καθηγητές)
- οι καθηγητές κοιτάνε τους shortlisted candidates, και κάνουν bid για να πάρουν αυτούς που τους φαίνονται καλύτεροι
- οι υποψήφιοι βλέπουνε τι offers έχουνε, και επιλέγουνε
