The Juice Crew was a hip hop collective of largely Queensbridge-based artists in the mid- to late-1980s. Founded by producer Marley Marl and radio DJ Mr. Magic and housed by Tyrone William's Cold Chillin' Records, the Juice Crew would introduce New School artists Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Roxanne Shanté and Kool G Rap. The crew produced many answer records and "beefs" - primarily with rival radio jock Kool DJ Red Alert and the South Bronx's Boogie Down Productions - as well as the "posse cut", "The Symphony".

Αν και παίζει πιο πολύ funk παρά hip hop είναι από τους καλύτερους dj στον πλανήτη. Για να καταλάβεις τι κάνει πρέπει να κοιτάς συνέχεια τα χέρια του (όταν ακουμπάει τα ποτενσιόμετρα ή τα πικάπ (και να χεις μια μικρή ιδέα του τι εστί μιξάρισμα / πως δουλεύει ο μείκτης)

"Beat Dis" is a song by British act Bomb the Bass, a studio production 'group' formed by producer Tim Simenon originally as the Rhythm King All Stars, with producer Pascal Gabriel and Adele Nozedar from Indians in Moscow involved too.[1]

From Bomb the Bass' first album Into the Dragon, the track largely consists of samples, like other hits of the time such as "Pump Up the Volume" by M/A/R/R/S and "Theme from S'Express" by S'Express. The centre label on the record features a smiley lifted from Watchmen. This usage was the origin of the use of the smiley as a symbol for acid house.[2]

The single was very successful in the United Kingdom, debuting at number five on the UK Singles Chart[3] of 20 February 1988 and peaking at number two a week later, behind Kylie Minogue's "I Should Be So Lucky".[4] It was also a major hit in Europe, reaching the top ten in at least five countries, and in New Zealand, where it peaked at number five. It reached number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for one week and is Bomb the Bass' only chart hit in the US.
