TechnoStar Greece is privately funding one 6-month internship on Computational Electromagnetics (CEM) at its office in Thessaloniki, Greece. The successful candidate will have the prospect of becoming a full-time employee after the internship period.
 
Internship Description
 
As part of the Computational Electromagnetics team, the successful candidate will contribute to the development of our Electromagnetic modules. The developed modules will be tested and integrated into the TechnoStar’s software ecosystem. The goals of the internship are:

  • Research on Computational Electromagnetics simulations.
  • Design, implement and test algorithms for our Electromagnetic modules.
  • Support the software development life cycle.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Undergraduate in Electrical Engineering, Physics or in any relevant scientific field
  • Knowledge of Electromagnetic field theory
  • Knowledge of C/C++

Optional Skills

  • Knowledge of Finite Element Method is a plus
  • Knowledge of Numerical Analysis is a plus
  • Knowledge of versioning control systems (e.g. git, svn) is a plus

Qualitative Skills
 
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Eager to learn new skills

Internship Description

As a part of our development team, the successful candidates will research, design, implement and document efficient, scalable and parallel versions of numerical analysis algorithms. The developed modules will be tested and integrated into the TechnoStar’s software platform. The primary goals of the internships are:

  • Research the latest developments in the HPC area (specifically ones related to numerical analysis algorithms and performance gains)
  • Design, implement and test parallel numerical algorithms for HPC systems
  • Support the software development life cycle

Skills and Qualifications

  • Undergraduate in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or in any relevant scientific field
  • Good knowledge of C/C++ and the standard template library (STL)
  • Good understanding of Numerical Analysis theory
  • Good understanding of parallel computing in both shared and distributed memory environments
  • Good understanding of the MPI protocol
  • Knowledge of OpenMP multithreading environment

Optional Skills

  • Knowledge of CUDA
  • Knowledge of Python
  • Knowledge of versioning control systems (e.g. git, svn)
   
Qualitative Skills
    
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Eager to learn new skills
