There is an opening for two funded MSD (Master by Dissertation) studentships in the Communications and Networks group at the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at the University of Essex under the Marie Curie RISE project RECENT and the supervision of Prof. Leila Musavian ( https://www.essex.ac.uk/people/musav85708/leila-musavian) and Prof. Nikolaos Thomos ( https://sites.google.com/site/nthomos/). The project will include secondment at the Portuguese partner (Greensphere Unipessoal LDA). The topic of the dissertations will be in the areas of physical-layer network coding, physical layer security, massive MIMO. Novel machine learning methods may be applied for the design of the systems. Upon successful performance and availability of funding, there will be an opportunity for the successful candidate to continue for a PhD. Students at the BSc or MSc level with a background in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics are encouraged to apply. Above all, the applicants must be self‐motivated, learn quickly and work effectively on challenging research problems.
