PhD candidates are solicited in the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at the University of Essex. Applicants who are interested in working in (a) machine learning for Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR) communication and (b) signal processing algorithms for IoT networks are encouraged to discuss with Dr. Nikolaos Thomos.The positions are fully funded (stipend & tuition). The successful candidates are expected to start their PhDs in October 2017.

Students at the BSc or MSc level with background in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics are encouraged to apply. Above all, the applicants must be self‐motivated, learn quickly and work effectively on challenging research problems.
