Αθήνα, 14 Δεκεμβρίου 2016: Ξεκίνησε σήμερα η υποβολή αιτήσεων στο Πρόγραμμα Educational Trip 2017 που διοργανώνεται για όγδοη συνεχή χρονιά από το Corallia και τους συλλόγους Ελλήνων φοιτητών των πανεπιστημίων Stanford (Hell.A.S.), UC Berkeley (Hestia), MIT (HSAMIT), Georgia Tech (GTHS), UC San Diego (HSAUCSD) και Princeton (OPA). Το Educational Trip δίνει την ευκαιρία σε 24 φοιτήτριες και φοιτητές από δημόσια ακαδημαϊκά ιδρύματα της Ελλάδας και της Κύπρου να επισκεφθούν για μια εβδομάδα τα κορυφαία αυτά πανεπιστήμια και να εφοδιαστούν με πρωτοποριακές ιδέες που θα μπορέσουν να εφαρμόσουν στο δικό τους ακαδημαϊκό περιβάλλον με την επιστροφή τους. Οι φοιτητές που θα επιλεγούν, θα παρακολουθήσουν μαθήματα, διαλέξεις και σεμινάρια, σύμφωνα με τα ακαδημαϊκά τους ενδιαφέροντα, θα πραγματοποιήσουν επισκέψεις σε τεχνολογικές εταιρείες αιχμής, όπως Google, Facebook, κ.ά., καθώς και ερευνητικά κέντρα στο Σαν Φρανσίσκο, στη Βοστώνη, στην Ατλάντα, στο Σαν Ντιέγκο και στο Νιού Τζέρσεϊ, καθώς και θα βιώσουν την καθημερινή ζωή ενός φοιτητή και μιας φοιτήτριας σε ένα τέτοιο πανεπιστήμιο. Δικαίωμα συμμετοχής στο Πρόγραμμα έχουν οι φοιτήτριες και φοιτητές ελληνικών και δημοσίων κυπριακών ακαδημαϊκών ιδρυμάτων, που φοιτούν σε πολυτεχνικές σχολές, σχολές θετικών επιστημών και οικονομικές σχολές, έχουν ολοκληρώσει το πρώτο έτος φοίτησης και δεν βρίσκονται στο έτος αποφοίτησής τους, παρουσιάζουν μια αξιόλογη πορεία στις σπουδές τους και έχουν επιδείξει ενδιαφέρον για την ανάπτυξη του πανεπιστημίου στο οποίο φοιτούν και γενικότερη εθελοντική και κοινωνική δραστηριότητα. our group is currently hiring a PDEng. student for a baseband chip design project. We have hired a PhD for this project. The PDEng. student is supposed to focus more on the chip implementation rather than research. We would like the PDEng. student to have chip implementation skills, such as RTL coding, logic synthesis, and placement&routing. Maybe you can check if there are interested students in your university or Greece in general. The AD is attached. Thank you!
PDEng. is also called post-master. It is the highest engineering degreee in the Netherlands. It is not a PhD! The student needs two years to get the degree. He/she will spend 30% of time in taking courses at TU/e, and 70% at NXP working on this project. If he/she performs well in the project, the chance to get a position in the company is pretty high. For your information, Erik Jan got the PDEng. degree from the computer science of TU/e a long time ago.

Eχουν ανοίξει 2 θέσεις πρακτικής στην εταιρεία Cadence Design Systems. Η μία θέση είναι στο Μόναχο της Γερμανίας και θα ξεκινήσει Δεκέμβριο 2016 ή Ιανουάριο 2017. Η δεύτερη θέση είναι στο Μπράκνελ της Αγγλίας και θα ξεκινήσει Ιούλιο 2017. Η πρακτική είναι έμμισθη και αφορά φοιτητές/φοιτήτριες που εΙναι τελειόφοιτοι καθώς και πτυχιούχους. Ο εκπαιδευόμενος θα επιλέξει ένα από τα επόμενα πεδία: analog design,digital design ,verification και θα μάθει να χρησιμοποίει πολύ καλά τα tools της Cadence στο πεδίο που θα επιλέξει. Επίσης θα δουλέψει σε διάφορα projects καθώς και θα επικοινωνεί σε καθημερινή βάση με πελάτες σχετικά με τα προβλήματα τους στα tools. Συνημμένα μπορείτε να βρείτε περισσότερες πληροφορίες σχετικά με αυτή την πρακτική. Να προσθέσω ότι η πρακτική για το Μόναχο ίσως ξεκινήσει πιο νωρίς (Νοέμβριο) οπότε οι ενδιαφερόμενοι να μου στείλουν όσο πιο σύντομα γίνεται (πριν τις 10 Οκτωβρίου). To IMEC ψάχνει ένα άτομο για internship στην ομάδα να δουλέψει σε cadence και να αναπτυξει DRC/LVS/PEX ελεγχους. Όποιος ενδιαφέρεται ας επικοινωνήσει με τον διδάκτορα του τμήματός μας και εργαζόμενο εκει, Νίκο Παπαδόπουλο ( Nikolas.Papadopoulos@imec.be). Ακολουθεί περιγραφή της θέσης: Large area electronics are getting more and more attention over the last years, ever since the discovery of new high-performing thin-film semiconductors like a-IGZO. These new semiconductors have a factor 10 to 100 more mobility and allow for integration of the circuits on a flexible circuits. Therefore there has been an incredible boom in the number of applications, going from low cost packaging tags to flexible displays. There are, however, a great number of applications which cannot efficiently be explored due to the lack of design tools tailored for this novel technology. During this internship you will improve the quality of the design flow in order to unlock more advanced applications. In order to advance the circuit design in this technology, we essentially require a qualitative Process Design Kit (PDK). For analog design, this includes the possibility to do a Design Rule Check (DRC), a netlist extract (PEX) and finally a Layout vs Schematic (LVS) check. Ideally PCells and standardized blocks are part of this analog design kit, so as to increase design speed. Furthermore we want to implement an advanced digital design flow to improve both the efficiency of implementation in terms of area and speed and the quality of the resulting circuits. A flow for doing a place-and-route with digital standard cells should be further developed. You, as a student, will incrementally improve the design environment and design flow for thin-film technologies, starting from the analog design, working up to the standard cell and place-and-route tools. You have the opportunity to work in a world-class design group in thin-film electronics, with the prospect of your results being used for the years to come.
