Stoner rock or stoner metal is a musical subgenre which combines elements of heavy metal, psychedelic rock, blues rock, acid rock, and doom metal. The term desert rock is often used interchangeably with the term "stoner rock" to describe this genre; however, not all stoner rock bands would fall under the descriptor of "desert rock."Stoner rock is typically slow-to-mid tempo and features a heavily distorted, groove laden bass-heavy sound, melodic vocals, and "retro" production. Αν και δεν σταμάτησε ποτέ για να είματε ακριβείς, και είναι ακόμα πιο έντονο για συγγενή είδη (70's, southern, psychedelic, space). Ας πούμε και το black έζησε στιγμές δόξας στην Ελλάδα αλλά λόγω της "μη προσβασιμότητας" του ήχου παρέμεινε με ένα μεσαίο cult following και δεν διείσδυσε στο mainstream. Αλλά και στο black και στο stoner η Ελλάδα έχει φοβερές μπάντες να ανακαλύψει κανείς, όποιος ασχολείται με ένα είδος και ακούει ολοκληρωμένα (οχι tracks στο youtube) δεν νομίζω ότι θα κάτσει να ασχοληθεί ιδιαίτερα με το ποιά είναι η απήχηση του, εκτός και αν μιλάμε για περιπτώσεις με εφηβικά σύνδρομα και αέναη επιθυμία "αποκλειστικότητας" - "δικαιωματικης συμμετοχής σε λέσχη μυημένων". Ως μουσικό είδος ειδικά με τις παραφυάδες της μπορεί να σε απασχολεί μια ζωή και το γεγονός ότι βλαχοκάγκουρες άκουσαν children of the sun και χάρηκαν δε λέει και τίποτα στη τελική.
