"Using Physics for Optimal Design in Electromagnetics: A Case on Absorption" Η διαλεξη -παρα τον αγγλικό της τίτλο- θα πραγματοποιηθει στα ελληνικά. Costas Valagiannopoulos was born in Athens, Greece in 1982. He received with honors the Dipl. Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece in 2004, and the Ph.D. degree for studies on Electromagnetic Theory in 2009. From 2010, he works as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Radio Science and Engineering of the Aalto University, Finland. Dr. Valagiannopoulos’s research int terests include electromagnetic theory, artificial metamaterials and their applications in devices controlling the electromagnetic fields. He has authored or coauthored over 50 works in international refereed scientific journals and presented numerous reports in international scientific conferences. During the current academic year, he is responsible for the doctoral course Analytical Techniques In Treating ElectroMagnetic Scattering (ANTITEMS) in Aalto University. Dr. Valagiannopoulos was the recipient of the International Chorafas Prize for the Best Doctoral Thesis in 2008 and the Academy of Finland Postdoctoral Grant for 2012-2015. http://meta.aalto.fi/people.html |
