Scope: With the number of mobile devices already exceeding the world’s population, mobile application development is an exciting and technically demanding field with vast potential that results in multi-billion dollar global revenue. The Android OS, widely used in smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices, currently dominates the mobile app market share by more than 70%. As a result, Android app development expertise has become a crucial skill in the job market. In this workshop/seminar, we ask an established Android developer to guide us in a tutorial manner through Android mobile app development and provide his insight and expertise on the art and science of Android programming. The event, which is targeted at students and ICT professionals alike, includes comprehensive presentations as well as actual hands-on programming performed by the participants.
